preflight

Depart from your home city for your over-night flight to Bali. You’ll cross the International Date Line and “lose a day”. Actually, the day isn’t really lost, it’s just held in suspension until the end of the trip when it rematerializes.

day1-1You’ll arrive in Bali very late in the evening. After clearing Indonesian immigration and customs, you’ll be welcomed by our friendly travel staff with a sign that says Wake UP and escorted to your transportation for a 45 minute ride to your hotel in Ubud. Your room at the Hotel Tjampuan will be ready for you and you will be ready for it.

Today is an explratory walking tour of Ubud with lunch taking us to Morie , situated right on the sacred Tjampuan River.
The afternoon will be spent at the spa with an hour and a half massage and cooling your jets by the pool.We are into wellness you know.
We’ll have dinner at a candlelit garden restaurant and see a Kecak and Fire Trance Dance performance where the mystic walks in the fire in an outdoor ceremonial temple.

day3

After breakfast and Reflections #2 , we’ll be going to the Casa Luna Cooking School, famous for its chefs from the book Fragrant Rice. This includes lunch under an elegant outdoor rooftop veranda. After an hour or so of nap or a meditative break, we’ll be going to the Antonio Blanco Museum. Blanco is known for his sensual oil painting work around the female. Antonio Blanco’s home and gardens are an opportunity for amazing photography. The early evening will find you stretching at a beautiful hidden yoga studio. It’s a beginner’s level, so don’t worry if you can’t touch your toes.Dinner will be a bit late and we’ll continue our Reflections discussions in a casual locally set restaurant on the path toward home.

day-4

After breakfast and Reflections #3, we’ll all be headed for the “Market” where you’ll learn to negotiate with rupiah under the tutelage of my Balinese staff and see things you may have never seen before.
Weather permitting; we’ll trek down a beautiful path through the rice fields to an amazing hidden restaurant called Organic Sari.
Organic it is, with the garden right in front of you. You’ve had your exercise for the day, so the afternoon and early evening will be spent with your second Spa Service. Together we’re off for dinner at the Jazz Café , complete with live music.

day-5

This is a special day, because after breakfast and Reflections #5, my Balinese friends will take us village trekking. This is authentic cultural immersion as you’ll be meeting real families and going into private compounds. You can ask the many questions you may have on culture, birthing, marriage, spirituality and culture. This day is full of unplanned synchronicities, and we’ll have lunch at a tucked away hotel restaurant. Many of you will want to keep your eyes open for a child you might like to adopt from the heart. It’s part of our Give Back program.
Whatever is left of the afternoon you can take a quiet meditation break, journal or a rest by the pool. We’ll finish off the day with dinner in Ubud and a Bamboo Gamelon performance in the Bentuyang Village.

day-6

Wake Up in Bali, because after breakfast and Reflections #6, we’ll be going to the Arma museum with a special lecture on Hinduism and art. We’ll take lunch at the museums garden restaurant.Soon after lunch we’ll be touring the one of its kind most eco- friendly, creative school on the planet called The Green School. This school is of the Steiner tradition and way fun. So fun that you won’t tell your kids about it.Dinner is at the Lotus Café, complete with live music by their water garden.

day7

Wake up to a very full and exciting day. After breakfast and Reflections #7 you’ll be meeting my good friend, artist, writer and photographer named Ruslan who will introduce us to several craft villages and tell us many local stories. We’ll visit an art village, a carving village and silver smithing village where you may find some serious bargains.

(If your suitcase gets to full , Ketut or Narendra can DHL your treasures to your home.)
After, lunch we’re off to River Rafting ( not scary) . So fun and so beautiful!
On your return you’ll be ready for your 3rd spa service before a late quiet dinner.
Tonight we pack our suitcases to prepare for an early morning departure to an island and change of hotels.
We’ll leave our luggage at the front desk to magically show up at our next hotel tomorrow afternoon.

day-8-8

We must wake up early to eat a quick breakfast and be off at 8:00 to go by boat to the Island of Lembogan.
Once we get to the port, the boat ride is fun and only about an hour before you’re in a post card setting with live coral and an azure sea. Today, Reflections #7 will be given where ever we find nature’s perfect spot, next to the ocean to discuss our thoughts.
We’ll have a buffet lunch and snorkel or nap under the palm trees. If the beach masseuse is working, we can get a 30 minute massage in a tent like structure. We’ll be back about 6:00. You’ll be tired, but happy when you arrive at the Arma Hotel , where your luggage will be waiting for you. We’ll find a quiet restaurant that will put up with us and sleep soundly with the sounds of nature.

day-9Wake Up… it’s shopping day! After breakfast and Reflections #8, we’re headed South to the wild shops and boutiques of Seminyak. After doing our thing, we’ll be lunching at a marvelous seaside restaurant and will plan to get back to Ubud in time for your 4th Spa massage in preparation for our last night’s celebration dinner. We’ll laugh and share stories. You’ll see that transformation does occur and that saying good bye to your new friends is not that easy. The good news is that sisters stay sisters all their life, so it’s just a goodbye until the next reunion.

day10

This is your last Wake UP in Bali morning as you have breakfast, pack and prepare for checkout. Depending on your flight time and if it’s in your schedule … we’ll meet in the garden for our last Reflection and goodbyes before our staff takes you to the airport. If you have more time, we’ll help you with the many possible things to do.Wake up in Bali is a transformational and spiritual experience. I promise you, you’ll be reflecting in the airplane going home and even months to come about exactly what happened to you. Perhaps you’ll be grinning about your new sisters and the evolved and expanded world you have now. Perhaps you’ll see you’re not alone anymore.
